Development of Guidelines for Bio-Methanation from Organic Fraction of MSW in India
The ‘Circular Waste Solutions’ project, funded by the NAMA (Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Action) Facility and executed by GIZ India, is actively addressing the imperative of a circular economy in India. In this regard, ICUC Consultants has conducted a study to explore Biomethanation technology as a key solution for management of organic fraction of MSW in India. ICUC conducted research on existing policies, regulations, technologies, and operational guidelines related to Bio-Methanation. Through stakeholder consultations, interviews, and on-site visits, ICUC was tasked to formulate National Guidelines that will serve as a roadmap for the effective implementation and operation of Bio-Methanation projects in India.
